Regional Inclusive Employer Conference

Tuesday, 17 May 00 2011

What do Richard Branson, Kerry Packer, and Steve Jobs have in common with Jessica Rowe, John Lennon, and David Beckham?

As well as being successful in their chosen professions, they each have a disability. A disability can be physical, intellectual, sensory, or neurological. It can also include poor mental health, literacy and learning disabilities, or chronic illness.

Disability affects approximately one in five people in the Australian workforce.

In the workplace, being able to identify the signs of disability and provide support for an employee with a disability could be the key to finding the next Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, or Alexander Graham Bell.
