I don’t have an Attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

18 July 2011

Recently Murray Now had the opportunity to listen to a Breyk Throo presentation featuring the successful entrepreneur Justin Herald. Justin’s journey into entrepreneurism started at the age of 25 with only $50 to his name, starting him on a course that would change his life. Justin Herald is the man behind Attitude Inc. a clothing brand that became an international licensing success turning over in excess of $20 million per year.

Attitude consists of not only t shirts but women’s wear and children’s wear sold in more than 2500 stores across Australia. Speaking on the clothing label itself he states “If I was to do it now I don’t think I could honestly do it all that well, because now there’s a million clothing labels out there. When I started, it was only me and an American company called No Fear. They were slogan-based. I saw what they were doing and I thought, ‘Yeah, that’s pretty cool,’ but it was very ra ra, and Australians aren’t ra ra, they’re very satirical, they’re very tongue in cheek. With the branding attitude, well it just seemed to work.”

While Justin owns and runs the business at arm’s reach he is still behind the scenes approving designs and orders on the run; he is always scoping new ventures to add to the business portfolio of Attitude clothing.

Justin Herald runs his business like he runs his mouth, a million miles an hour!

Justin, a grounded individual works hard and plays hard. Justin has up to 150 speaking engagements per year and writes his own columns in numerous magazines and newspapers nationally and internationally. Justin genuinely enjoys his work and his balanced lifestyle; he loves his collection of expensive cars and playing practical jokes on friends. In Justin’s books all the hard work pays off when you can balance it with the good times.

The attendees at Rydges Albury were captivated by some of the pearls of wisdom Justin imparted. “I recall humble beginnings in business where I started with just three t-shirts and tried to create demand for a product that no one had ever heard of,” starts Justin.

Kerry Weymouth from Milestone Training attended the morning presentation. “It was very beneficial and listening to Justin was very inspirational, she stated. “I took away key information which I can implement in my own business, extremely valuable”.

justin_herald Justin began Attitude Inc by looking to exploit a simple opportunity and tells the audience; “Opportunities are something that you have never had before. People tend to wait for opportunities and don’t go looking for them.” He adds, “An opportunity to grow a business organically can sometimes be a better choice than investing a whole heap of money into an unknown venture and hope it works out.” These were just some of the insightful business tips that Justin imparted on the audience that morning.

Others attending thought similar about the event including Rick Leeworthy, Managing Director of Hadar Homes, said “The morning was fantastic, I love the connections; I love the synergy of like minded people coming together purposely finding out ways of supporting each other. What I’m trying to do is surround myself with the right people and expand my connections and these events support these goals. I need to take away this information and see what all this means for me and my business.” Justin closed the morning by saying that he loves being around small businesses owners and that the reason I want to assist as many small businesses as possible is because the better you do, the better lifestyle you have and that is one of the main reasons we’re in business.
