Shire of Campaspe
If you want results, think Campaspe!
A multi-faceted economy, first class infrastructure, a spacious and attractive location and an ‘investment ready’ Council make the Shire of Campaspe the ideal place to live, work and invest.
All this within two and a half hours drive of Melbourne!
These are but a few of the reasons why many national and international companies like Heinz Watties, Fonterra, Simplot, Cedenco and Nestle call Campaspe home.
Echuca is the largest town within Campaspe and together with Moama (our NSW neighbour) we boast a population in excess of 20,000 people.
The iconic Murray River runs along the northern border of the Shire and meets the Campaspe and Goulburn rivers in Echuca.
Our primary industry activities include dairy and beef cattle, cereal crops, tomatoes, sheep and wool, aquaculture, viticulture, floriculture, fruit and vegetables.
The shire is serviced by a road transport network, with the Northern and Midland Highways providing a direct link to metropolitan Melbourne and to the major provincial cities of Bendigo, Shepparton and Ballarat.
The Murray Valley Highway provides a vital east-west link along the NSW/Victorian border to Albury-Wodonga in the east and Mildura in the west. A rail network also services the shire. Air transport is provided with an allweather aerodrome at Echuca with pilot-activated lighting and a nondirectional navigation beacon.
